Bolted On (16th August 2008)

So as the all conquering hero from 2007/08, thebettingclub.co.uk have asked me to try my hand as the site’s resident tipster for the year. I’ll try and keep it humorous as I don’t think anyone will be taking my tips too seriously after the disaster that was Euro 2008.

Whilst looking for some bets I found out that Bill Hill will offer bets on literally anything within reasonable taste. This means that we can’t bet that Ferguson will die this season, shame. But it does mean that we can bet on something to do with the site, so let’s see if we can come up with something! I cant get a price on a Usain Bolt 100m/200m double but I do reckon the 100m WR will go this Saturday, with odds about 3/1 on Betfair. The three fastest men in the world ever are due to run so surely there is every chance someone will break 9.72.

My long shot this week has to be Angus Deayton for next full time Countdown presenter at 64/1. Of the shorter priced runners Bremner looks a good shout at evens. Apparently you can bet on anything.
