Irish Eyes Are Smiling 30 Aug 2008

So neither of my predictions came in this week but I wasn’t far off. Usain did get the 200m World Record though, as predicted. I don’t know if the delightful Miss Brook has picked a mate yet, I’ll have to check some of the numerous Heat magazines lying round the flat to see if every teenage boys fantasy has come true.

The site had a bit of a nasty turn this week with a loss of over £70 but on the plus side it looks like William Hill will give us a £100 free bet for the winner and £50 free bet for the runner up in the Tipster League table. That should add an extra little spice to this year’s competition...

The first bet I fancy this week is for Australia to win again in South Africa, 2.42. The Saffers have been pretty rubbish lately with a good thumping by the All Blacks followed by a home defeat to Australia. So 2 points for the criminals to push home their edge again this weekend.

In the All Ireland semis, the odds on Tyrone and Kerry to both win their games are quite good at 1.86 and would recommend three points on both strong favourites sticking to the form guide.

Fans of the facebook group IHBAIHHFF (full name available on request) may be interested to know you can back Bono at 500-1 for next Archbishop of Westminster and also 1000-1 for Pope, not sure if he’ll be able to run both jobs side by side but if he does bag them both you’ll probably be as rich as him.

Smythy's Tips
3pts on Tyrone / Kerry double @ 1.86 +2.58points
2pts on the Crims beating the Racists @ 2.42 -2points
